Invisible Braces
(also known as Invisalign)
Invisible braces are easy to use and simple to remove. Their benefits over regular braces is the ability to remove them for social events and you don’t suffer from wire pokes. Then when they are removed, it is simple to perform routine oral hygiene measures such as tooth-brushing and flossing.
The trays are comfortable and barely noticeable, making them a superior and very popular choice. Invisalign when correctly designed is proven to be just as effective as braces. With every aligner that you progress to, your teeth will move closer towards your perfect smile!
Invisalign First
Invisalign First or “Phase 1′ is early treatment to correct the bite/jaw alignment, which starts anywhere between ages 6 and 10 (when the adults teeth are coming in). About 1 in 5 children need this. Since the teeth and jaws are still growing/developing at this stage, if major problems exist, we have a better opportunity to correct the problem before growth is complete.

Invisalign Lite
Invisalign Lite is an ingenious brace that discreetly straightens teeth using transparent removable aligners. At the beginning of your treatment a series of aligners will be custom-made, just for you. Each aligner is designed to be worn for two weeks, gradually moving your teeth to reveal a straighter and more confident smile. This shorter treatment has all the great features of Invisalign, but it’s been specially created to treat simpler cases in around 5 to 8 months. The treatment is essentially the same; you’ll just need fewer aligners to move your teeth into the desired position.

Frequently asked questions about Invisalign Full
Is Invisalign painful?
Because the plastic aligners are 3-d printed for each patient, the shape will be very snug and should always be comfortable to wear. Relative to metal braces, there are no wire pokes and because the trays are changed each week, there is always a gentle step between each one which is barely noticeable if they are being worn full-time.
Does it take longer than train track wire braces?
If the aligners are worn consistently 22 hours per day, it can be a very efficient and speedy treatment, if they are left out for more than 3-4 hours per day, the treatment can take longer than fixed metal braces which are constantly working 24/7 to straighten your teeth.
Do I still need to wear a retainer at the end of Invisalign?
Yes, all forms of tooth straightening ( whether with wire metal braces or plastic aligners like Invisalign) will require retainers at the end of treatment, they should be worn for 12 hours every night for 2 years after the orthodontic treatment has been completed and thereafter it is customised to each individual. Most patients choose to wear their retainers every night indefinitely to prevent the normal effects of ageing which can cause front teeth to become overcrowded, overbites to increase and smiles can also become narrower over time!
Does Invisalign affect speech?
Every type of brace feels odd at first, however, because the aligners do not cover the roof of the mouth, there is a minimal effect on speech, most patients notice a slight effect for the first few days of treatment but our tongues are quite effective at adapting to aligners. Clear speech is always found with patients who wear the aligners full-time. Lisping is usually a give away sign that the aligners are not fitting well as they have been left out for too long and the teeth have moved backwards
